WEBQUEST ACTIVITY LESSON PLAN

SECTION TWO: Identifying method(s) of assessment and point of use throughout lesson--
Assessment before instruction: The teacher will conduct a small discussion of different animals that can be found in an aquarium and the function of informational boards in an aquarium.
Assessment during instruction: As the students complete their assignment they will fill out the chart provided for them on the classroom goal page. Students will locate information using the resources provided for them by the teachers.
Assessment after instruction: Students will complete five different informational boards and display their information to the class.

- STANDARD 3.1.3.A1- Describe characteristics of living things that help to identify and classify them.
- R3.A.2.4.1: Identify and/or explain stated or implied main ideas and relevant supporting details from text.
- Students will be able to identify facts about different animals within the aquarium using provided websites.
- Students will be able to provide information regarding different animals in the ocean, by creating informational boards.

SECTION THREE:
Time Frame: 2 class sessions, 3 hours in total
Lesson Details:
- Students will be seating at their individual desks
- Teacher will conduct the assessment before instruction through asking the students questions in regards to aquarium life. (Examples: What animals would you find in the ocean? What are informational boards used for? What types of facts and pictures are provided on informational boards?)
- Teacher will introduce the lesson/activity to the class.
- Teacher will guide students through the weebly webquest. (The overall classroom goal and each of the components of the assignment)
- Teacher will show the students the informational chart that they will use in order to collect information.
- Teacher will then present the different resources available in order to help students understand the different ways to visit the links on the webquest.
- Teacher will divide students into previously chosen groups depending on ability and proficiency levels.
- Each group of students will move to sit with their groups.
- Students will be provided with fifteen minutes of time to review over the websites in their group. During this time the students can ask any questions that they may have.
- Students will then be provided with time to complete their assignments during two classroom sessions. (1.5 hours per session)
- After each group completes their assignment in the allotted amount of time, students will present their informational boards to the rest of the class.
Transition: redundant to the procedures
- Students will be split into previously chosen groups and will be directed to different areas within the classroom.
- After they complete the required assignments, the students are asked to come up in front of the classroom (group by group) to present their informational boards.

- Students are placed in groups based on their proficiency levels.
